Initially released in the fall of 1976, Leftoverture debuted on Billboards Top 200 album chart on November 6th 1976 (#96) with catalog number "PZ 34224". With the success of the single [m=56469], Leftoverture reached the top 5 and stayed on the chart for 42 weeks. On July 23rd 1977 the Billboard chart included a changed/updated catalog number reflecting a new prefix (JZ 34224), indicating their record label/distributor had changed the 'list price' for the album. The earliest US pressings of the album have a PZ prefix on the catalog number, an X698 price code on the spine, and no barcode. Secondary pressings have a JZ prefix and no price code.
