The seventh studio album from Bad Religion. It was originally released by [a255657]'s independent label [l61599], but by November 1993 the band had signed to [l681] (for the North American market). Atlantic reissued 'Recipe for Hate' on cassette and CD (the vinyl version has continued to be reissued by Epitaph). "By the time the band had already signed with Atlantic, close to two hundred thousand copies had been sold worldwide".

'Recipe for Hate' was the first Bad Religion album to chart in the United States. It debuted at #14 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart. The album produced the following singles: "American Jesus" and "Struck a Nerve".
