The Beastie Boys sampled Jimmy Smith's 1972 jazz-funk track "Root Down (And Get It)" for their 1994 song and 1995 EP titled "Root Down". The sample, featuring a prominent organ groove, was used heavily in the song's composition. It was featured on their album Ill Communication.
