Originals is an album featuring Prince’s previously unreleased (demo) versions of songs he wrote between 1981 and 1985 (plus one outlier from 1991) for his side projects and/or donated to protégées and other artists. The theme of this album was sparked by the discovery of his demo of "[m=1354092]", released one year before. The album was initially released as a [l937873] exclusive on June 7, 2019 and widely released on CD and digital formats two weeks later, with vinyl editions announced for July 19, 2019.
