The album was produced by [a31213] and was mixed by [a11415]. Released by the Australian rock band as their sixth studio recording in 1987, Kick has been certified six times platinum by the RIAA, and within a year of its release, the album had achieved gold and platinum status in many countries. In Canada, the album kicked off four major Top 10 radio and club singles: "New Sensation", "Never Tear Us Apart", "Devil Inside" and "Need You Tonight.” The "Need You Tonight"/"Mediate" stylish dance/rock hybrid remix was a huge club favorite and not surprisingly it also received DJ-play in the funk clubs. Kick remains the band's best-selling album in Canada, having earned the diamond certification from CRIA (Canadian Recording Industry Association). In 2012, "[r=3900650]", the 25th Anniversary Super Deluxe Edition was released which included a 64 page book, a poster and a sticker sheet, albeit the bonus for world-wide DJs was the CD which contained remastered versions of the legendary classic remixes! In 2017, a 30th Anniversary Collectors Edition was released as "Kick 30" that included even more remixes & B-Sides, plus a blu-ray with Dolby Atmos surround sound & Hi-Resolution audio versions of the album and promo videos for "Guns In The Sky", "New Sensation", "Devil Inside", "Need You Tonight", "Mediate", "Never Tear Us Apart", "Mystify", and "Kick".
