The Story
Abominog is the 14th studio album by British rock band [a254059].
Originally recorded on 24 track digital tape in 1981 and 1982.

First released as a re-mastered CD by [url=https://www.discogs.com/label/5129-Castle-Music]Castle[/url] in 1997 as [url=https://www.discogs.com/release/8614038-Uriah-Heep-Abominog]ESMCD571[/url] with four bonus tracks.
The vinyl version of the album was released worldwide as a single sleeve cover with an insert or sleeve depending on various country requirements.
Half of the 10 tracks are cover versions of recordings by other artists:
"On the Rebound" was originally recorded by [a=Russ Ballard], on his [r=2719508] album (1980).
"Hot Night in a Cold Town" was originally recorded by [a=John Cougar Mellencamp], on his [r=1339878] album (1980). The song was written by songwriters [a=Geoffrey Cushing-Murray] and [a=Richard Littlefield].
"Running All Night (With the Lion)" was originally recorded by [a=Gary Farr (2)]'s [a=Lion(11)], on their [r=3956552] album (1980). Lion keyboard player [a=John Sinclair (3)] brought this song with him when he joined Uriah Heep.
"That's the Way That It Is" was originally recorded by the [a=The Bliss Band], on their [r=2595479] album (1979).
"Prisoner" was originally recorded by [a=Sue Saad and the Next], on their self-titled album [r=1873779](1980). The lyrics were written by [a1721076].
The album also included a remake of "Think It Over", a song recorded by the prior (and largely different) lineup of Uriah Heep. The original version, featuring [a=John Sloman] on lead vocals, was the A-side of a 1980 Heep single and is included as bonus track on some remastered CD releases of this album.
